PHOENIX (September 17, 2008) — On September 29, 2008, Students at North High School will participate in a speed-dating-style event with a twist: Instead of sharing astrological signs and favorite hobbies, the high schoolers will use their four-minute "date" to discuss what behaviors make for a healthy dating relationship.

PHOENIX (June 27, 2008) — Scottsdale Mayor Mary Manross has been selected to lead the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), the regional planning agency for the metropolitan Phoenix area. MAG is a Council of Governments that provides a regional forum for analysis, discussion and resolution of regional issues, including transportation, air quality, and human services. MAG was founded in 1967.

Jun 26, 2008:  Teens Speak Out About Dating Violence

(PHOENIX, June 26, 2008) — Local teens are inviting Valley radio stations to help them speak out against violence in dating relationships. Teens will reach out to their peers about the importance of identifying abusive dating relationships through a new public service announcement promoting the Maricopa Association of Governments' Youth Empowerment Project.

The prestigious awards are presented to those agencies and individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting, recognizing, and attaining the ideals of regionalism.
