PHOENIX (November 13, 2014) — The State Congress of Sonora, Mexico, has formally recognized the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) for its efforts to further trade relationships with the state of Sonora. The recognition came during a visit by a MAG delegation to Hermosillo last week.

PHOENIX (June 26, 2014) — Youngtown Mayor Michael LeVault was elected last night to lead the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) for a full term as chair, extending the appointment he received in April following the resignation of Mesa Mayor Scott Smith, who stepped down to pursue a run for Governor. Mayor LeVault will serve as chair through June 2015.

That is the invitation being issued in a joint letter signed by the chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and the chair of the MAG Economic Development Committee. The letter urges Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk to visit the greater Phoenix region as the company considers where to site a multi-billion dollar battery plant.

PHOENIX (February 19, 2014)—The Greater Phoenix region has been named one of the best intergenerational communities in the country. MetLife Foundation and Generations United have announced that the Maricopa region will receive one of four MetLife Foundation/Generations United America’s Best Intergenerational Communities Awards.

PHOENIX (January 24, 2014) — On Jan. 28, 2014, hundreds of volunteers will fan out across the region as part of a massive effort to count homeless people sleeping on the streets. The volunteers will canvass all areas identified to likely have homeless individuals who are living unsheltered on the streets.
