Human Services Planner I or II, DOE
MAG is seeking a bright, driven, team-oriented professional to support its efforts in the Human Services Division, working closely with the Continuum of Care. The person selected for this position will work closely with the other Human Services Planners as well as the Human Services Manager on implementing the requirements outlined in the U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Program and HEARTH Act. MAG is a vibrant, dynamic work environment with a variety of activities.
The primary responsibilities include homeless system data analysis, creating data dashboards, writing reports, and ensuring compliance with federal requirements and performance standards; providing technical assistance to non-profit agencies administering CoC homeless assistance grants; facilitating meetings; and making presentations.
This position will provide support to the comprehensive, regional human services planning process and its committees. Assist with planning and preparation of the regional Continuum of Care application to HUD. Work hand in hand with the MAG Human Services team to facilitate the annual update of the housing inventory chart, the point-in-time Homeless Street and Shelter count, monitoring performance of programs and other areas as needed.
In addition, this person in this position may be required to write reports, newsletter materials, public notices, marketing information and fact sheets, memorandums and letters in a timely manner. Interact with the general public, human services professionals, and elected officials.
This position will serve as an internal and external public policy and information resource, particularly for issues affecting persons experiencing homelessness. Facilitate large and small group discussions and forums. Participate in and make presentations to meetings of other organizations, travel throughout the Maricopa County region, and accept additional duties as necessary.
These activities are undertaken with an emphasis on high quality work, close internal communication, and providing a benefit to MAG member agencies and partners.
Experience and Education Required:
A Bachelor degree is desired, Master’s degree preferred. Work experience in lieu of education may be accepted. Experience with a Continuum of Care and/or HUD funded program, and sophisticated data analysis preferred.
Salary Range for Level I is $44,092 to $66,138, for Level II is $53,594 to $80,391.
