The MAG Fiscal Balance Report and its associated fiscal model enable the user to estimate order-of-magnitude fiscal impacts of regional land use plans and projects. The purpose of this report is to provide background information on how different types of development impact communities from a fiscal perspective. The report also includes an analysis of the revenue structure of local governments in Metro Phoenix relative to the ability to sustain various mixes of development types. When evaluated within the context of each community, the data provided in this report can offer a starting point for further dialogue. While the final answers for land use decisions will not be found within this report, the report and model offer data to be taken into account during the course of that dialogue.
