The 2025 Regional School Crossing Guard Training Workshops are sponsored by the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and its member agencies. The workshops are scheduled for mid-July and early August.

- Monday, July 14, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Perry High School – Auditorium, 1919 E. Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, AZ 85297
- Monday, July 28, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Rio Vista Recreation Center - 8866 W. Thunderbird Road, Peoria, AZ 85381
- Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Steele Indian School Park – Memorial Hall, 300 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85012

Why It Is Important:
All K-8 schools may utilize this workshop to train their school crossing guards.
Training will include essential crossing guard procedures, information on the health and welfare of guards, and resources available from police and fire departments to help the guards ensure the children’s safety as well as their own.
Special sessions will review traffic laws regarding crosswalks, the procedures that must be followed in crosswalks, and the proper equipment that guards rely on to perform their duties safely and effectively.
By The Numbers:
- School crossing guards must register online by July 11.
- Training sessions last about three hours.
- Approximately 400 school crossing guards are expected to attend.
