PHOENIX (July 8, 2019) – It may seem like summer just got started, but kids across the Valley will soon be heading back to school.  How will your child get there safely?

To make sure thousands of students get to school safely, hundreds of crossing guards will take part in upcoming regional training workshops. They will learn essential crossing guard procedures, traffic laws regarding crosswalks, proper equipment, and how to ensure their own health and safety while keeping others safe. 

The 2019 Regional School Crossing Guard Training workshops are sponsored by the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and its member agencies.

Three workshops are scheduled for the following dates and locations:

  • Thursday July 25, 2019

9:00 a.m. (sign-in is at 8:30 a.m.)

Phoenix Washington High School Auditorium

2217 W. Glendale Ave, Phoenix 85021

  • Tuesday July 30, 2019

9:00 a.m. (sign-in is at 8:30 a.m.)

Rio Vista Recreation Center

  • Thursday August 1, 2019

9:00 a.m. (sign-in is at 8:30 a.m.)

Dobson High School – North Lobby Auditorium

School crossing guards who are interested in participating in the training workshops must preregister. Information and registration forms are available at the MAG website link provided at http://srts.azmag.gov.
