The Subarea Project Assessments (SPA) are being conducted by MAG and its member agencies to move goods more efficiently and safely in Maricopa County’s industrial clusters. The goal of the subarea project assessments is to identify freight-related projects on or in the vicinity of the federal approved MAG Critical Urban Freight Corridors. A traffic analysis will identify and develop projects and policies that move goods more efficiently and safely through the communities. Also, developing a plan to foster the development of a safe, diverse, and economically thriving place to work and live. The industrial clusters in the region have a mix of land uses, making it critical to include all modes of transportation in the analysis. These include, but are not limited to, commercial vehicles, passenger cars, freight rail, transit, bicycles, and pedestrians.
