MAG is the designated Regional Solid Waste Management Planning Agency for Maricopa County area pursuant to Section 4006 (b) of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. The Solid Waste Advisory Committee reviews and comments on solid waste information generated during the planning process and makes recommendations to MAG’s Management Committee.
The committee includes public officials, representatives of public interest groups, citizens, and representatives of organizations. The Solid Waste Advisory Committee partakes in planning activities which include updating the information management system, the Regional Solid Waste Management Plan, and Plan reviews.
