NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND COMMENT ON THE DRAFT MAG 2025 EIGHT-HOUR OZONE PLAN –SUBMITTAL OF APPLICABLE MODERATE AREA REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MARICOPA NONATTAINMENT AREA

The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) announces an opportunity to comment on and/or request a public hearing on the Draft MAG 2025 Eight-Hour Ozone Plan – Submittal of Applicable Moderate Area Requirements for the Maricopa Nonattainment Area. The purpose of this notice is to receive public comments.

The MAG 2025 Eight-Hour Ozone Plan has been prepared to meet applicable Moderate Area Clean Air Act requirements for the 2015 eight-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard. The plan addresses Moderate Area requirements including reasonably available control technology, new source review, reasonable further progress, vehicle inspection and maintenance program, and contingency measures.

The draft document is available for a 30-day public review period on the MAG website at www.azmag.gov. Special accommodation for reviewing the draft document can be made by contacting Lesa Young at the phone number below. Public comments may be submitted in writing by 5:30 p.m. on March 7, 2025, to Lesa Young at the address below or online by visiting www.azmag.gov/comment. Comments may also be received at the public hearing if a public hearing is conducted. After considering the public comments, the MAG Regional Council may take action on the plan on April 23, 2025. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality may then adopt the plan for submittal to the EPA.

A public hearing concerning the draft document will be conducted only if a request is received during the 30-day public review period. A request for a public hearing may be submitted to MAG by email or mail at the address shown below. If no request for a public hearing is received by 5:30 p.m. on March 7, 2025, the hearing will be cancelled by a notice posted on the MAG website at www.azmag.gov. If a public hearing is requested, it will be held on:
