Phoenix (May 28, 2026) – The Town of San Tan Valley is the latest municipality to join the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG). The move comes less than a year after officially incorporating as a town.

San Tan Valley, located in Pinal County, sits between the Town of Queen Creek to the north and west, the Town of Florence to the south, and the Gila River Indian Community to the southwest.

Key Facts:

  • The Town of San Tan Valley lies within MAG’s planning area.

  • By joining MAG, the Town of San Tan Valley enables coordinated and enhanced local and regional planning efforts.

Why It Is Important:

As one of Arizona’s newest and fastest-growing communities, we look forward to working with our regional partners to build a connected, sustainable future for our town and the greater region” remarked San Tan Valley Mayor Daren Schnepf after MAG Regional Council’s unanimous vote to approve membership.
