Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and communities throughout the Valley are marking the occasion with events, seminars, training sessions, fundraisers, and collection drives.

As we enter October's Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Maricopa Association of Governments is celebrating the 25-year anniversary of the MAG Regional Domestic Violence Council and raising awareness about the importance of continuing this vital work.

Across the region, people from all walks of life are honoring the courage of survivors and those who help them in recognition of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We look forward to sharing all the diverse ways we lift each other up as we seek an end to violence.

If you have information to share about events being held in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, please use the online form.

MAG Regional Domestic Violence Council Commemorates 25th Anniversary

Those looking for help to escape abuse are encouraged to speak with someone they trust, create a plan for their safety (including the safety of children and pets), and contact a domestic violence provider in the community for additional resources. Domestic violence providers work closely with the homeless provider system to help survivors find shelter and ensure their safety is a priority.
