The Avondale-Goodyear Transit Study is evaluating the need for new and/or improved transit service in the cities of Avondale and Goodyear. In addition to traditional bus service (fixed route transit), the study will evaluate emerging alternatives such as microtransit, on-demand rideshare programs, subsidized ride hailing (such as taxis, Uber or Lyft), and other flexible transit services.
The study will include a review of existing conditions, a best practices report, a market analysis, route and service recommendations, and public and stakeholder outreach throughout the project. The study kicked off in May of 2020 and is expected to conclude by June of 2021. For more information, please see the project fact sheet in the Materials tab.
The study team has developed several concepts for new, improved, and/or enhanced transit service, and is seeking input from the community via an online survey. You can share your thoughts about potential modifications to existing transit routes; flexible employment shuttles; microtransit; and multimodal mobility hubs.
We also held two virtual community meetings in early March to get feedback on these concepts. You can watch the presentation here.
