Study Description/Area

The purpose of the I-10 West (Papago) Major Investment Study is to conduct a multimodal corridor study of the Interstate 10 (Papago) Freeway corridor between the Deck Park Tunnel and the Loop 303 (Estrella) Freeway, extending north as far as Indian School Road and south to Buckeye Road.

Study Objectives

The outcome of this planning study will be a Corridor Study Report outlining recommended highway and transit design elements and operational strategies to be carried forward into design and implementation to improve operations and safety on the I-10 Freeway from the I-10 Deck Park Tunnel to Loop 303, a distance of roughly twenty miles, as well as off-freeway.

The report will also include recommendations for building transit ridership throughout the corridor with the objectives to offer more attractive mobility options and draw vehicle trips away from the freeway.
