The Study

The purpose of the Gila Bend Development study was to determine strategies to improve operations of intersections along Pima Street between Gila Boulevard and Dodson Street. This study recommended near-term and long-term corridor improvements and included future development considerations. The study was completed in Winter 2026.

Study Area

The study area spanned approximately 3,000 feet along Pima Street from Gila Boulevard to Dodson Street. Located within the Town of Gila Bend, this corridor is the primary roadway through the community. The corridor is also a regionally critical facility that facilitates travel between I-8, SR 85, and SR 238 (Maricopa Road).
