Each year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development releases a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the local Continuum of Care to apply for funding with the goal of ending homelessness. Funding can be used to quickly rehouse homeless individuals, families, persons fleeing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and youth while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness. A complete description of the requirements and regulations can be found under Federal Regulation 24 CFR part 578.
